1. Acceptance
By using Ride the Tape, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. What Ride the Tape does
Ride the Tape converts market-price movements into simulated indoor cycling routes and may control compatible fitness equipment. It may also display workout metrics, market information, company content, and optional third-party integrations.
3. Fitness and equipment safety
Indoor cycling is strenuous, and automated resistance changes can be unexpected. Ride within your abilities, remain able to stop the bike, and do not rely on the app as a safety system.
- Consult an appropriate medical professional before beginning or changing an exercise program, especially if you have a health condition, symptoms, or concerns.
- Inspect and operate your bicycle, trainer, exercise bike, sensors, fans, and other equipment according to the manufacturer's guidance.
- Use conservative trainer safety limits. Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, equipment instability, or an unexpected resistance change.
- Metrics such as heart rate, power, speed, calories, FTP, and training difficulty are estimates or sensor readings, not medical advice or diagnostic measurements.
4. Market information is not investment advice
Market prices, charts, news, filings, commentary, and related content are provided for entertainment and informational use in creating a ride. They may be delayed, incomplete, adjusted, inaccurate, or unavailable. Ride the Tape is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, research provider, or fiduciary. Nothing in the service is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or other asset. Do not make financial decisions based on the app.
5. Accounts
Some features may allow or require an account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for protecting access to your device and sign-in provider. Provide accurate information and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You may request deletion using our account deletion page.
6. Third-party services and content
Ride the Tape may interact with smart-trainer manufacturers, Bluetooth accessories, app stores, Google Firebase, Apple Health, Strava, Cloudflare, market-data sources, news or filing sources, casting services, and other third parties. Their products, content, terms, availability, and privacy practices are their responsibility. We do not guarantee compatibility, continued access, or accuracy.
7. License and acceptable use
Subject to these terms, Ride the Tape grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the service unlawfully or to harm another person.
- Circumvent security, interfere with operation, or access systems or data without authorization.
- Reverse engineer, copy, resell, or exploit the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Remove ownership notices or use Ride the Tape branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission.
8. Purchases and subscriptions
If paid features are introduced, pricing and renewal terms will be presented before purchase. App-store purchases are billed, renewed, canceled, and refunded under the applicable store's rules. Features and plans may change prospectively, subject to applicable law.
9. Intellectual property
Ride the Tape, its software, visual design, branding, and original content are owned by IGO Social LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, trademarks, market data, and content belong to their respective owners.
10. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, integrations, or the service. Beta and pre-release features may be incomplete and may change without notice. We do not promise that every trainer, bike, sensor, ticker, data source, or device will work.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ride the Tape is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IGO Social LLC and its owners, personnel, affiliates, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, opportunities, or business, arising from the service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service during the preceding twelve months or USD $100. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or others, enforce these terms, or comply with law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will post updated terms here and revise the effective date. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
